Hatay Airport

Starting from the year of 2012, there are 67 airports in Turkey and 24 of them state as external and internal line services, 31 of them are only for internal line services. The left 12 of of them exists as special status airport. There are 2 airports in both Hatay and Kahramanmaras in the region of TR63.
Hatay Airport exists in the eastern part of Antakya-Iskenderun highway and it is 25 kms far from the highway and 40 kms far from the county of Iskenderun. Due to the unsatisfaction of the needs of airports in 2007, the restoration of the airport has been finished in 2011. When we look at Hatay regional reports, the place of airport consists of 383 hectares within the area utilization budget as well.

The Number of Planes that are landing and departure in TR63 in Hatay Airport are 46 in 2007 and this number will rise to 1470 in 2008 as well.

Between the years of 2008-2012, there will be a 4 times rise in the number of planes that are both landing and departing with the number of 5.858. Hatay Airport which has begun to be active in 2007 is being renewed in 2011 and in 5 years time period, there will be a potantial for the other provinces in TR63 Region as well.

Hatay Airport external line flights has been opened to service in 4th of September, 2008 and in 2008 the total number of external flight passengers are 179. When we look at the increase in the number of external line flight passengers, there is a continuing increase in the number of passengers between 2008-2010. Compared to the year of 2010, in 2011, there is a %10 of decrease and compared to the year of 2011, in 2012, there is a %15 of increase with the external line flight passengers' number of 1514.
